Birthdays

Sept 9th was Aunty Liz's birthday so we had a Sunday birthday dinner at our house.

Mmm. Buttermilk white cake with raspberry cream cheese icing drizzled over it.
The kids were a little crazy so we took the party outside. :)

September 15th was Grandma's birthday.
Instead of presents she asked that everyone memorize a poem and recite it to her which I posted below.  If you scroll down to the bottom you can turn off the music and then hear the poems.  If you are wondering why we are all in our work clothes it's because we spent all night getting Travis's new yard looking beautiful. :)  Zina recited "Eletelphony" by Laura Richards, Wilson sang "On Top of Old Smokey" (all covered with cheese...:), I recited "Which Loved Best" by Joy Allison (and you can tell I procrastinated and couldn't remember it!! :) and Mark recited "The Cremation of Sam McGee" by Robert W. Service.  The reason Mark chose that poem is because Zina told him there was NO WAY he could memorize a poem that long so then of course he had to prove her wrong. :)  Which he did. :)

Marilyn surprised Grandma with tickets to Broadways Mary Poppins which was showing at Capital Theater in Salt Lake.  Lucky for us Grandpa wasn't feeling well and Marilyn decided Wade wouldn't like it so me and Zina got to go. :)  We went out for dinner at the Red Rock Cafe and then walked over to the Theater.   The little girls had a hard time staying awake since it was pretty late but we still had fun out with the girls!  Thanks Marilyn for a super fun night!
